The Olive Groves of Puente Genil

The oil we bring to Mi Oliva Gourmet comes from one of the finest olive groves in the world, in the fields of Puente Genil. As far back as 1935, it received the award for the world's finest olive oil (OPTIMUN OLEI EMPORIUM), a distinction granted by the Spanish olive growers' association — the only one of its kind in the world at the time — created expressly to recognise the prestige and quality of the olives from these century-old groves, whose flavour, aroma and organoleptic properties are truly unmatched.

Many factors influence the quality of an olive oil, but in this countryside they all come together in perfect combination.

Our oils are bottled daily

We don't hold pre-bottled stock — our oils are bottled as orders come in.

Unlike the oil you find in supermarkets and large retailers, our oils are kept in the cellars of the Olive Oil Mills, under ideal conditions that preserve every last drop of flavour and nutritional properties.

Our oils are never blended

Dozens of brands are sold as Extra Virgin Olive Oil when they are anything but — blends of oils from different origins, using the good ones as a front and lesser ones as filler.

Our oils are never blended. We also only select oils that have been subject to rigorous quality controls, determined primarily by yield and acidity.

We visit every olive grove to oversee the harvesting process and every mill to verify production, laboratory testing and cellar storage conditions.

Our second mission is almost a dream: to champion the true value of our liquid gold, Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Millions of tonnes of Spanish olive oil are exported at throwaway prices around the world, blended with oils of dubious origin and bottled under other brands — stripped of its quality and properties, then resold at ten times the price.
